Parent Involvement Plan
 
The Peabody High School Parent Involvement Plan was jointly developed by Peabody High School teachers and parents to establish expectations for parent involvement.
General Expectations of Peabody High School:
ü Conduct an annual meeting with parents for the purpose of discussing Title I programs and securing their input for developing and revising policies related to parent involvement, including the use of school Title I funds. Parents will also be asked to share suggestions for improving parent participation in student learning.
ü Invite all parents to provide suggestions for removing barriers to student learning or voice concerns as needed.
ü Provide students with high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment through our highly-qualified and professional teachers and staff.
ü Provide a description and explanation of the Tennessee State Curriculum and assessment of student progress to parents through a link on the High School webpage. Administrators and teachers are available at parent request to assist parents in understating curriculum, assessments and student progress.
ü Provide parents with frequent report on their children’s progress through progress reports, report cards and parent portal. Parent portal is available through our school’s webpage and is accessible at any time.
ü Provide to parents an individual student report about the performance of their child on the State assessments in Mathematics, English, and Science.
ü Provide opportunities for regular parent meetings and communication to formulate suggestions and participate in the decision-making process concerning their child through parent/teacher conferences and IEP meetings; which are flexible and offered in the evening and mornings.
ü Teachers and staff are made available at all times through email, scheduled appointments, and parent/teacher conferences.
ü Provide training sessions and staff development for teachers and staff to help improve communication with parents and academic achievement.
 
General Expectations of Parents:
ü Support children’s learning through monitoring attendance, making sure homework is completed, and participating, as appropriate, in decisions relating to their children’s education.
ü Stay informed about children’s education and communicate with the school by promptly reading all notices from the school or the school district, either received by children or by mail, and responding appropriately.
ü Encourage positive attitudes about school
ü Attend parent-teacher conferences
Peabody High School is committed to parental involvement and support and will work cooperatively with parents and the community to help our students achieve a superior level of success.
